Women of Worth is an initiative of The Mosaic Center, a new movement in Columbia County. Our mission is to build lives and break cycles.

WOW MISSION

Working together with groups like Columbia County Community Connections and WOW Communications, we are building a project called Women of Worth — targeting women who are unemployed and underemployed and who are motivated to move forward financially and vocationally.

EMPOWERMENT

The Women of Worth project is also for those who want to serve in the empowerment of women by offering their time and energy as mentors, to raise up a generation of women leaders.

THREE PHASE ROLL OUT

Our vision is designed to develop interest in this initiative over a three-phase roll-out that includes a one-day interest building session, a six-week pilot, and a fully developed one-year program.

ONE DAY SEMINAR — TOPICS

The first phase is a one-day seminar that introduces the idea of community-based empowerment. We’ll offer teaching on topics like worthiness, how to use a mentor, identifying and using your gifts for leadership and how to overcome barriers to adequate employment.

SIX WEEK PILOT — MENTOR

The second phase is a six-week pilot focusing on many of the same topics, but with the addition of a mentor provided to each participant to help women really begin to develop their potential.

ONE YEAR PROGRAM

Our third phase is a one-year program. Women will meet monthly as a group and also regularly with a mentor who will help them identify and tackle their barriers to employment and leadership opportunities.

Leaders with Columbia County Community Connections are certified to lead training in “Bridges Out of Poverty” as well as a program called Getting Ahead, and these will be offered. Guest speakers from the community will share stories of success and their areas of expertise.

30 PARTICIPANTS

Our goal for the first year is to graduate 30 participants, seeing measurable results in the financial, relational and professional lives of at least 75% of those who attend.

CIRCLE OF INFLUENCE

In addition to mentors and trainers, we’ll also form what we’re calling a Circle of Influence, a group of women professionals and leaders formed to support Women of Worth — providing access to resources like legal advice, medical care, and marketing, that will benefit women ready to overcome barriers to their success.

BY WOMEN, WITH WOMEN, FOR WOMEN

Women of Worth is by women, with women, for women …

Raising up a generation of women who are ready for more than just making ends meet.

We want to see women become everything they can be. Thank you for sharing in our story and supporting our vision.
