New Improved Year Resolution

| January 3, 2022

A new year is an incredibly hopeful thing for me. It isn't just that we get to try again, but that we can be hopeful about what's ahead. And I am a fan of hope! Hope is probably what encourages New Year resolutions, but is that the best way to welcome hope into our lives? Especially since most of us end up dropping them by mid-January, it seems as if resolutions can be counter-productive. And as Steve Moore shares with us this week, they may not even be biblical. What if we focus instead in the person of Christ, rather than the work of life? That's where we'll be this Sunday as we begin the Year of Sweet Communion.

| October 31, 2021

This week we continue to explore what it means to be the family of God, called around a holy table for a holy purpose. Sunday's message will help us see the powerful, traditional, historic way to build fellowship, family, and community with both physical and spiritual food. Steve Moore is our preacher this Sunday! Make sure you show up and grab a seat up front. You won't want to miss this!

The Forgotten God

| June 27, 2021

Troubles and trials might discourage us from worshipping if we decide to blame our misfortunes on God. On the other hand, when we're financially secure, feelings of self-satisfaction can draw our focus away from God toward material comforts. Either way, we're distracted from the One who loves, protects, and provides all good things for us. Isaiah reminds us of the risks of forgetting about God. Join us to learn more about that, as well as ways we can always keep our worship focused on Jesus -- in good times and in bad.

Chosen

How does our citizenship on earth relate to our citizenship in the Kingdom of God? Paul once reminded the Philippians that “we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior” (Philippians 3:20). Peter takes that concept and unpacks it beautifully in his first letter to the early Church. He teaches us how our heavenly citizenship plays out on on earthly plane, and he reminds us of our core identity as citizens of Heaven.
